Proficiency Testing
Plate Counting–
Provides the lab supervisor confidence that the technicians are performing serial dilutions and plate counting techniques.
Identification–
Technicians are asked to identify a series of microogranisms using the established laboratory methods. This test module assures the lab supervisor that the technicians are performing identification methods consistently.
Gram Staining–
Perfomance of a series of Gram stains on unknown organisms using the established laboratory methods are evaluated during the Gram staining module.
Most Probable Number technique (MPN)–
During the MPN module the technician is asked to perform an evaluation of samples using established laboratory methods.
Basic Math Skills—
Consists of basic mathematical operations commonly used in a microbiology lab.
Our packages can be used to evaluate up to six technicians, and includes general instructions and the necessary microorganisms for performing each evaluation using the established laboratory SOP within your facility. This allows the lab supervisor to evaluate both the staff and procedures, ultimately providing maximum value.
